Posted 13 years agoI'm thinking of hauling my account over to painted-dragon permanently (nothing over there for now). Mostly for aesthetic reasons, as my name is apparently very prone to mispronunciation. XD
Anyway, I'll be moving art over there within the next week or so, and abandoning this account name. Nothing drastic, just time for a change in scenery. :3

Posted 13 years agoMostly wanted to get that last journal off of the front of my page. Ahem.
Anyway, stuff! I've been making decent progress on my first costume commission, a Giroro head from Sgt. Keroro! It's coming along nicely, despite not being able to match the colors to his anime form. I'll post some pictures when he's done and furred.
Next project is my first quadsuit and next personal suit, Sadaharu from Gintama for a cosplay group. I'm pretty stoked for this as we're going to be a part of a HUGE group with some great cosplayers, so I'm under pressure to give this my all. Which is good.
I have some more of the last batch of sketch commissions to post but my computer cord was chewed up, so I'll have to wait until the replacement comes in before I can post anything, or attempt to solder it myself when I get back from visiting my folks.
Anyway, hope everyone has a safe and warm holiday in the North Hemisphere. :3

in which my bike is totaled... by a douche in a ford pickup
Posted 13 years agoGot hit by a car today on my way back home from class.
Ironically enough, the street where I was hit was a hill that I was always paranoid about biking down since the cars are close to the road (possible dooring) and it turns onto another street (possible sidelining), so I usually take a little extra caution. What I didn't expect was some guy in the median trying to beat traffic by turning in quickly to take advantage of a small break in the line of cars to pull into a parking lot - right as I was biking by. I squeezed the hardest I could on my breaks but as my rate of speed wasn't decreasing fast enough due to the wet roads and incline, I braced for impact and got away with a welt, scraped and bruised elbows, and some shoulder and head pain. Also a completely totaled bike in which both handlebars are bent in opposite 90 degree angles and one of my pedals is bent back and embedded into my back tire.
But the thing that gets me the most is this. I laid on the pavement for a second after being hit, slightly stunned and strangely clear due to adrenaline, I expected to hear a car door open and a worried individual asking if I was okay. Instead, I hear the roaring of the engine as Ford Douchbag takes off as quickly as possible, narrowly missing running over my fucking skull. I felt my SHOULDER-LENGTH hair being pulled as they drove away across the parking lot and fled down a nearby street. Their tire was probably mere inches from my head.
Needless to say I will be on the lookout for Ford pickups in the near future and will be taking down the plate numbers of any that I see with damage to the front-right grill and/or leaving cryptic haunting notes on their windshield.
Anyway, I'm okay for the most part. I just wish the asshole gets reported and positively ID'd somehow so he can buy me a new fucking bike and apologize for being a dick. My police officier told me there is an extremely small chance of them being caught unless someone calls in and identifies the car, so I'm not getting any hopes up but it would be awesome if they are somehow found out. I wouldn't have pressed any charges had they simply checked to see if I was okay.
Don't hit-and-run, kids.

FA account getto! Actually I've had this account for a few months but am just now getting around to posting (thanks college!).
I am excite.
Anyway, goals for somewhat immediate future includes posting more art (which inevitably also includes uhhh making art. to, you know, post), figuring out whether or not photography is really a hip thing to post here (weeping softly over my camera now), hopefully picking up a couple of commishes since I am in dire need of money (thanks college!), and then eventually laying the groundwork for a potential business in building fursuits.
